Plate XVI
The Two Lattices
Find the hidden order of the world; error storms, and truth kindles.
"When an interpretation is wrong, Reality itself resists it: prediction fails, action misfires, coordination breaks, and the interpretation can only be saved by endless ad hoc patches: the opposite of a stable, eternal principle which survives variation and multiplicity."
A circular instrument holding two overlaid star-lattices; where they disagree, slow bands of moiré darkness roll through the field, and where they align the hidden lattice kindles into light
Drag anywhere inside the disc to slide the interpretation lattice; drag the outer engraved ring to rotate it. With the figure focused, arrow keys slide the lattice and Shift with the left or right arrow rotates it. Touch works the same. Nothing snaps — only the darkness widening or dissolving tells you how close you are.
Fig. XVIa — the fringes are not drawn; they are the beat of the two lattices' own mismatch.
Nothing here represents error or truth directly — both are drawn only as the physical consequence of two lattices in disagreement or accord. The reader does not solve for a number; they feel the darkness resist, then yield, as the world's own order comes into view.
